About Lakeside HS Softball
In Georgia, fast pitch softball is played as a fall sport in high school. DeKalb County Schools could be the birthplace of fastpitch softball at the state level. The county had 18 of the 21 teams that participated in the inaugural season in 1993. The other three teams were from Marist, Berkmar and Meadowcreek.
Currently, Lakeside plays at the 6-A level through the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) due to the size of our student body.
Girls transitioning into the 8th grade at Henderson Middle School or other DeKalb Feeder schools may try out for the JV team. Girls in the 9th-11th grades may try out for either the JV or Varsity teams. Girls in the 12th grade may try out for the Varsity team only. All girls must have a current, signed DCSS physical form (see www.Dekalbschoolsga.org) turned in prior to participating in any tryouts or summer workouts.

The mission of the LHS Softball Booster Club is to support the players, the coaches, and the school both on and off the field. We invite you to learn about our booster club activities and membership obligations throughout the summer as you join in and take an active role in the organization. Running a successful softball program is expensive in both time and effort. We are lucky to have a great team of experienced and hard working coaches: Lauren Levin, Bridget Langan-Puckett, Brian Granger and Joel Fender. It is our responsibility as a booster club to make their coaching jobs as easy and rewarding as possible. Contact us if you are interested in any of the following positions:
