Lakeside High School, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is part of the DeKalb County School System.
Lakeside students have excelled in both academics and athletics since the school opened in 1965. Many awards and honors have reflected the outstanding dedication to academic and athletic excellence by the students, parents, coaches, and staff.
In Georgia, fastpitch softball is played as a fall sport in high school. Girls transitioning into the 8th grade at our feeder school(s) or any private school may try out for the JV team. Girls in the 9th -11th grades may try out for either the JV or Varsity teams. Girls in the 12th grade may try out for the Varsity team only in accordance with the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) rules.
Lakeside is currently in Region 4-AAAAAA(7). Our regional competition includes Dunwoody, Marist, North Atlanta, Riverwood, South Cobb, and St. Pius X.
The Lakeside Softball program was started in 1993 by Coach Duane "Bubba" Wilson who guided the team to a 10-8 winning season record. Since that time, the program has grown a successful program to include a Middle School team in coordination with the Druid Hills Youth Sports program. Lakeside Softball has various alumni playing or having played in NCAA Division I, II and III collegiate programs.
Booster Club Overview
The Lakeside High School Softball Booster Club, is a not-for-profit corporation that was formed to assist the softball program of Lakeside High School comprised of the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School teams. The functions of the Booster Club include promoting the general welfare of student athletes, increasing school spirit and sportsmanship, and raising money to support Lakeside softball.
Membership in the Booster Club includes the parents/guardians of players on the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams; former players and their parents/guardians; the Lakeside Principal; Lakeside softball coaches; and interested members of the community. Our email address is: [email protected].
Elections for Booster Club officers are held at the end of each fall softball season.

To provide transparency and maintain confidence in the actions of the Booster Club’s Board, the Booster Club will provide written documents, such as general meeting minutes, financial reports, budgets, proposals, etc. upon request. Members are referred to the Booster Club’s By-Laws for a more thorough understanding of the organization.
