Despite allowing three runs in the third inning, Lakeside High School Varsity defeated Lithonia 13-5 on Wednesday in their final game of the season. Chanel Clark and Monica Gransberry each had RBIs in the big inning for Lithonia.
Lakeside opened up scoring in the first inning, when Reagan Greene doubled on a line drive to left field. The scoring continued in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Mari Wade, Sara Mirabal and Sibley Durisch all recorded hits. The inning was highlighted by the inside the park home run by MyKala Mitchell.
Lakeside High School Varsity scored six runs in the fourth inning to close things out. LHS offense in the inning was led by Brady Miccichi, Emmaline Crittenden, Wade, Mirabal, and Prissy Alviarez, all knocking in runs in the inning. Lakeside High School Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Wade had six chances in the field, the most on the team. Lakeside High School Varsity stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one.
Mirabal earned the win for Lakeside High School Varsity. She went five innings, allowing five runs on two hits and striking out six. Samiyyah Huckabee took the loss for Lithonia. She lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and 13 runs while striking out seven.
