At the much anticipated game versus Decatur, Lakeside Senior players: Natalie Stembel, Reagan Greene, MyKala Mitchell, Prissy Alviarez and Emma Schimmelman were honored in a ceremony before the game.
In the first inning Decatur opened up by scoring on a triple by A. Gilbert. Lakeside High School Varsity scored three runs in the second inning. Lakeside High School Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Brady Miccichi and Sibley Durisch, who all drove in runs. Decatur took the lead in the third inning, but with a spectacular double play by Emmaline Crittenden in the 4th, the lead was held to one. Decatur went on to score 11 runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.
K Counsil was in the circle for Decatur. She surrendered six runs on six hits over two innings, striking out one.
Sara Mirabal was in the pitcher's circle for Lakeside High School Varsity. She surrendered 16 runs on 11 hits over five and a third innings, striking out six. Mari Wade threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.
